Since my childhood I have been fascinated by science and mathematics. Specifically, I have enjoyed building objects and taking things apart. I first realized my passion for constructing and deconstructing when in third grade my mom brought home big packages from Ikea, and I assembled the furniture by myself with great excitement. This ability led to my curiosity for woodworking so I started attending classes on power tools, design, and fabrication, creating my own wood shop in my basement. Consequently, I decided to major in engineering for my undergraduate studies: to me this path represents a rational, but also creative and imaginative way of assembling the world. As a hobby, I have taken up woodworking during my free time and also as a student job in the Swarthmore College MakerSpace.
