Outside of my academic work, I am deeply committed to service.
I have recently started to volunteer for Good Beginnings as an in-home volunteer visitor, in which I provide weekly home visits for three consecutive months during the baby’s first six months, in order to lend a helping hand to parents, reduce isolation, offer respite, provide health and safety information, read to babies and older children, and support pregnant women on bed rest.
I am also very passionate about animal welfare. For over four years, I’ve volunteered with animal shelters in both the U.S. and Italy, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting cats and dogs through a wide range of care—including socialization, medication administration, TNR (trap-neuter-return), and adoption outreach.
As a pet owner for over a decade and a dedicated fosterer, I’ve cared for a variety of animals, from kittens under 8 weeks old to nursing mothers and senior cats. Some of the projects closest to my heart include building outdoor shelters for stray cats in Philadelphia and supporting sterilization efforts for feral populations in Italy.
Below, you’ll find the organizations I’ve partnered with, along with a few photos from my volunteer journey 🐾
