⚡️ ABOUT LOCAL HACK DAY ⚡️
Local Hack Day is an event where you can bring your ideas to life by building new projects and working together with others. Students worldwide will be participating in one-day hacks and can participate in workshops and talks with a community around the world. Over the course of 12 hours, attendees will use hardware and software to build everything from websites to robots to mobile apps and more.
✌🏾THEME: HACKING FOR SOCIAL GOOD✌🏾
With the rapid advancement of technology, it is important to use its power in ways that benefit society. MLH LHD challenges its participants to hack for social good, and create an opportunity for us to explore the intersection between technology and society. Categories include education, environment, human rights & health, and diversity & inclusivity.

This is an event for all skill levels, from beginners to the most veteran developers. Workshop attendees will learn skills that they can apply in their projects, schoolwork, job, and beyond. Team size must be limited to 4 people per team (or under).

During this workshop, you’ll learn strategies to help you perform better in technical interviews. You’ll practice algorithms, ask and answer questions, and get more comfortable with technical interview challenges.

In this workshop, participants will create an account, become familiar with the GitHub platform, and use a best practice collaboration workflow to add their hometown to a map of all Localhost participants!
4:00 pm 🖥 Everything you need to know about Side-Projects by Mike Wehar (Singer 221)
I love working on side-projects. I run two communities dedicated specifically to side-projects. In this talk, we will discuss everything from finding your passion, picking a topic, staying motivated, and ultimately sharing your creation with others to make a difference.

We are really excited to see what you have to share with us. Fill out the Project Submission form to be eligible to win our prizes. These will be judged based on technical difficulty, social impact, innovation, and creativity. Please submit your project information in order to demo it by 6:50 pm. Prizes include Google Home Mini , Tile Mate, Travel Card Charger, and more prizes and exclusive offers from our supporters and sponsors. Demos are brief 4-minute presentations in which you will introduce your team and talk about the focus, inspiration, goal, process, and future steps.

You can chat with them about what they’re learning, building, and sharing. You’ll also be able to ask for help / mentorship if you get stuck during a workshop.
