Machine learning computational microscopy
June to August 2020 - Swarthmore College
With Dr. Ganapati from Swarthmore I earned the Eugene Lang Research Fellowship to investigate 3D imaging optimization with deep learned ptychographic microscopy. I took a deep dive into convolutional neural networks (CNN) and applied my computer programming skills in Python, GitHub, and MATLAB to build, configure, train, and test the CNN. I then extracted the output and recreated the 2D slices and 3D stacks and finally, I generated an animation of the edges of the absorption slices and of the phase slices.
